Jamie Carragher was spot on when slating West Ham duirng the shambles v Brighton and it sums up how we operate as a club and with our transfer strategy.
He said we have a far better side on paper, comparing the individuals against Brightons but Brighton function far better as a team, their work ethic, strategy, running and pressing. Our team looks like it a "Championship Manager one"
...and that ladies and Gents is what West Ham do. We don´t look further than the position needed. We need a striker, we get Zaza or Ayew. Neither gel in our team yet have functioned perfectly well in other sides. Then we can add to that by Sullivans comments explaining Billic doesn´t know his best team.
We constantly chop and change team, formation, in an attempt it would seem to "turn things around", always the short term. How about selecting players based on what they can do for the team style (when it´s decided what that is) and if they can fit into that style and formation.
The owners don´t help with their scattergun approach to buying players and we all know they are heavily involved it´s not just down to Billic. And the club has always had a billy big bollocks attitude where we really think we are better than we are, reflected often in our signings and this can also be attributed to the fans.
We wouldn´t be happy with many fo the signings Brighton brought in to fit into their team, they´d simply "not be good enough for West Ham" so we end up with the likes of Arnautovic who can be a great player on his day but is most of the time an extreme luxury as he does nothing defensively - including tracking back.
We need to realise we are not really a big club, we have big and great support but have won jack all in decades and are up and down like a yo yo.
Bring on the kids for the cup, at least they bring excitement and freshness until we can actually decide a stratagy for how we play football and which players CAN play in that team. For 15 mins we were passing the ball around quite well until Brighton scored, fast and to feet. That´s the way forward. Carroll will return and that will vanish and it´s back to arial attacks.

I agree with a couple of your points and its similar to something I said on the "Who do we get in" thread.
But I certainly wouldn't advocate playing the whole youth side, or we could be looking at a hammering. Would definitely look to bring in 2 or 3 though.

'for 15 minutes' we were quite good, but then lost 3-0 to fucking Brighton.
But when Carroll comes back this massive improvement will be lost.

We played like an orchestra lacking a conductor but it did not need Carragher to tell us did it. We don't have a settled team, a default starting eleven as it were or even a default pattern of play and tactical system in place for when the going gets tough.

I agree. It goes back to my point about a business needing a core belief. Moore than a club is absurd.

The club has no direction whatsoever, it's a shambles and the sooner someone comes in andn sorts it out the better. There seems to be no teamwork ethic at all, it;s like most of the players aren't that bothered about winning or losing.

Just to clarify *and this can also be attributed to the fans.*
We also believe we are better than we are should be buying "top" players....we don´t settle for players "inferiror teams" buy, like Gabiadini at Southampton, linked with us. General consensus was he wasn´t good enough - done alright for them
